The BOM & quote card is the project's bill of materials, priced. Every part you'd buy or print gets a line with its name and quantity, where to get it and what it costs.

The card's header gives the total, then how many lines have no price and how many prices are stale, for example "total 412.00 USD + 89.90 EUR · 2 unpriced · 1 stale". The same total shows at the right of the status bar. Click it there to jump to the card.

Lines and quantitiesCopy Anchor Link

Identical parts share one line, and the quantity counts them all. Parts count as identical when they're the same catalog part, at the same revision, with the same values. Two trays of different heights are two lines.

A part that's made of other parts can be listed as itself, as the parts it's made of, or both. Its catalog entry decides which, depending on how you'd actually buy or make it.

Hover a line to highlight those parts in the 3D view. Click its name to select the first of them.

Where to buy: listingsCopy Anchor Link

A listing is one place to get a part: an online shop or a physical store, new or used, a print service, or printing it yourself. Listings are added by people with contributor access, on the part's page in the catalog. Rack Maker doesn't fetch or scrape prices from shops.

Each listing can have:

• a vendor, and for a store, where it is
• a pack size: a price for a pack of 4 counts as a quarter each
• a price in one currency, with the date it was entered
• the latest stock report: in stock, low or out of stock

Under each line, a list shows its listings, for example "Vendor · 12.00 USD / 4 · out of stock". Pick one to use it for that line. Your choice is saved with the project, so everyone who opens it sees the same quote.

A line with no listings shows add where to buy it instead. It links to the part's catalog page, where you can add one if you have contributor access.

How a listing is pickedCopy Anchor Link

Until you pick one, each line takes a listing by itself:

1. the cheapest listing per item, in your preferred currency, that isn't reported out of stock
2. if there's none in that currency, the cheapest per item in any currency that isn't out of stock
3. if every listing is out of stock or has no price, the first listing

"Cheapest" compares the price per item, after dividing by the pack size.

CurrenciesCopy Anchor Link

Prices stay in the currency they were listed in. Rack Maker never converts between currencies. There are no exchange rates anywhere in the app.

So the total is one subtotal per currency, such as "412.00 USD + 89.90 EUR", with the currency that has the most lines first. A total of "0.00" means nothing is priced yet.

Prefer sets your preferred currency. It changes which listing a line takes when you haven't picked one, and it's the currency of the filament cost. It doesn't convert anything. The list offers USD, EUR and GBP, plus any currency a listing in this project uses. The choice is saved with the project.

Printed parts in the quoteCopy Anchor Link

A printed part with no listings is priced as a self-print: the grams of filament it needs, at the Filament price per kg, in your preferred currency. The default is 25 per kg. Change it to what your filament costs. These lines say "self-print (filament)".

The grams come from the catalog's estimate for each printed part, which assumes solid prints. Your slicer settings will usually use less.

Under the price, a line can say:

Lines with no price aren't in the total, and the header counts them as "unpriced".

At the bottom of the card:

• Export CSV saves the quote as quote.csv: one row per line with the item, catalog id, quantity, where, URL, currency, unit price, total, price date and note, then a subtotal row per currency, and a count of unpriced lines.
• BOM CSV saves the bill of materials without prices as bom.csv: one row per line with the item, category, quantity, catalog id, revision and the values that make it that line.
